Unseen Service: The Reward
Scripture: Hebrews 6:10 - "God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them."
1. Our service to God may not always be recognized or rewarded by society, but God sees and values every act of service we do for Him.
2. While earthly fields may have awards and recognition for success, serving in the Kingdom of God often goes unseen and unrewarded by human standards.
3. God assures us that He sees our work and the love we show Him by helping His people, and He will not forget our efforts.
4. The reward for our service may not come in the form of material possessions or public acclaim, but it brings eternal blessings and fulfillment.
5. Let us remain faithful and patient in our service to God, trusting that He sees and will reward us according to His perfect justice.
Prayer: Father, thank you for valuing and remembering the work and love we show in serving you and helping your people. Help us to find joy in serving you, knowing that you see and will reward us according to your perfect justice. Amen.
My story
I remember a time when I was feeling discouraged, wondering if my efforts in serving God were making any difference at all. I had been volunteering at my local church for years, helping with various ministries and tasks, but I never received any special recognition or praise for my hard work.
One day, I was reading the Bible and came across the verse that reminded me that God sees all that we do in secret and rewards us openly. It was a much-needed reminder that my service was not in vain, even if it went unnoticed by others.
I began to change my perspective on my service, realizing that I was not serving for the accolades or praise of men, but rather for the approval and reward of my heavenly Father. I continued to serve faithfully, knowing that God was pleased with my efforts, even if no one else seemed to notice.
And sure enough, in due time, God did reward me openly. Doors of opportunity began to open for me in ways I had never imagined, and I could see the tangible impact of my service to God in the lives of others.
I learned that true success in God's Kingdom is not measured by recognition or rewards here on earth, but by the faithfulness and obedience in serving Him with a pure heart. And I am grateful for the lesson learned, knowing that my service to God is never in vain, for He sees and rewards all that we do for Him in secret.
Go deeper
Scripture teaches that God sees and rewards even the smallest acts of service done in love for Him and others. In Matthew 6:4, Jesus speaks of giving. to the needy in secret, saying that "your Father who sees in secret will reward you." This demonstrates that God is aware of and values unseen acts of service.
Additionally, Colossians 3:23-24 exhorts believers to work heartily, "as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward." This passage emphasizes that our service, whether seen by others or not, is ultimately done for God and will be rewarded by Him.
Therefore, it can be confidently affirmed that unseen service is never unseen by God. He sees the motives of our hearts and the effort we put into serving Him, and He promises to reward us according to His grace and justice. This truth should encourage believers to continue serving faithfully, knowing that their labor in the Lord is not in vain (1 Corinthians 15:58).
Wooow very encouraging Pastor
