Who Can Be Saved? 

Scripture: "For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost." - Luke 19:10 

1. We should not judge a person's potential for salvation based on outward appearances or perceived righteousness. 

2. Jesus came to call sinners to repentance, not just those who seem outwardly decent. 

3. It is our job to share the gospel message with everyone, regardless of their lifestyle or background. 

4. Conviction of sin and repentance is the work of the Holy Spirit, but we can still play a role in sharing the message. 

5. Let us be obedient in spreading the good news of salvation to all, trusting that God can work in the hearts of even the most unlikely prospects. 

Prayer: Heavenly Father, help us to see all people as potential candidates for salvation, regardless of their current state. Give us boldness and wisdom to share the gospel message with everyone we encounter, trusting in Your power to work in their hearts. Amen.

My story

As I walked through the crowded streets of the city, I couldn't help but feel overwhelmed by the sheer number of people surrounding me. There were people from all walks of life - the wealthy, the poor, the righteous, and the sinners. But who could be saved? Who was worthy of hearing the gospel message?

I found myself gravitating towards those who seemed decent, morally upright, and not obviously involved in sin. Surely, these were the ones who would be most receptive to the message of salvation, I thought to myself. But a voice echoed in my mind, reminding me of the words of Jesus - "I didn't come for the righteous, but to call sinners to repentance."

It was then that I realized my mistake. Who was I to judge the quality of a prospect for salvation? It wasn't my place to determine who was worthy of hearing the gospel and who wasn't. My duty was clear - to preach the message of salvation to every creature, regardless of their perceived righteousness.

I began to approach those who I had previously overlooked - the sinners, the outcasts, the ones who seemed furthest from God. And to my surprise, many of them were eager to hear about the love and forgiveness that Jesus offered. It was a humbling reminder that salvation knows no bounds and that God's grace is available to all who would receive it.

I realized that it wasn't my job to convict others of their sin, but to simply share the message of hope and redemption. The rest was up to the Holy Spirit to work in their hearts and bring about true repentance.

And so, I resolved to be generous in my proclamation of the gospel, knowing that while I could sow the seeds, it was ultimately God who would bring about the harvest. Who can be saved? Anyone who hears the message of salvation and responds with a repentant heart. And it was my privilege to play a small part in the incredible work of God's kingdom.

Go deeper 

According to Scripture, salvation is available to all who believe in Jesus Christ. John 3:16 states, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life." This verse shows that salvation is offered to anyone who believes in Jesus, regardless of their background or past sins.

Additionally, Romans 10:9 says, "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." This verse emphasizes the importance of faith in Jesus as the way to salvation.

Furthermore, 1 Timothy 2:3-4 states, "This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth." This passage highlights God's desire for all people to be saved and receive the truth of the Gospel.

In conclusion, salvation is available to all who believe in Jesus Christ, regardless of their background or past sins. God desires for all people to be saved and come to know the truth of the Gospel.
